Star Wars family ties?

I wanted to know about the Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker family tie. Vader is Luke's father but is there more to it? Why weren't they close? What happened between them? Rest of the family...? Can you just tell me all the important points about their relationship? (Include Leia if you want..) I just really need anything about their relationship. Thanks!
