Help with a story? (10 pts!)?

I'm looking for abilities for some of my characters to have - but I don't really want them to be 'superpowers.' More like the things from Maximum Ride or Twilight, stuff like changing appearance and seeing visions. Does that make any sense? Not stuff like superspeed or invisibility. If that doesn't make sense, sorry. But any suggestions are really appreciated! =)
